Halong Bay belongs to Halong City is located in Quang Ninh Province in the North of Vietnam. Known as one of the new 7 natural wonders of the world and also the world’s natural heritage recognized by UNESCO.

Halong Bay Overview

The bay’s tranquil beauty encompasses some 1,500sq km (579sq miles) of indigo sea and is dotted with over 3,000 limestone islands and rocky outcrops, almost all of them uninhabited. Oddly shaped rock sculptures jut dramatically from the sea, and numerous grottoes create an enchanted, timeless and almost mystical world.

Different ways to experience Halong Bay

The only way to see Halong Bay is take cruise go out the sea from 2 mian ports Tuan Chau Port or Hon Gai Port. Basically, there are 3 types of tours to visit Halong Bay.

1/ Half day tour (about 3-4 hours):

2/ 1 day tour (about 8 hours):

3/ 2 days 1 night tour: You will spend 1 night on the cruise to experience differents side of view in Halong.

4/ 3 days 2 night tour: You will spend 1 night on the cruise and 1 night on Cat Ba Island (is the bigest island among more than 3.000 islands in Halong bay).

When is the best season to visit Halong Bay?

There is no best seasons defination in Halong Bay. You can visit here in all four seasons, and each season will bring you different experiences. But during the peak typhoon season in september, boats may cancel due to bad weather.

4/ Cat Ba Archipelago:

Known as the largest and the most attractive island to tourists among 1969 islands in Halong Bay. The Cat Ba archipelago consists of 366 islets and islands peppered with beautiful beaches and grottoes. Just 20km (12 miles) from Hai Phong, with the gulf of tonkin to the west and Halong bay bordering to the east, the main cat ba island covers about 354 sq km (137sq miles), with a stunning landscape of forested hills, coastal mangroves and freshwater swamps, as well as lakes, waterfalls and reefs.
